A Day on the Dunes
Just 90 minutes from Jackson, over the pass, lies an expansive patch of sand. Ever since I first learned of this I had wanted to explore it for myself, and what better way than by bike I had thought. I immediately realized that my tires were nowhere near wide enough for the soft sand. Undeterred I lowered the air pressure as much as I could and set off into the rolling hills of sand. I’d fly over the hardened areas and down the slopes, only to sink in as I pushed the bike up the next dune. On this calm and quiet day I felt like I had the place to myself, and watching the sunset with the moon above was just an added bonus.
